Privacy Policy
Videogen ("the app") is a private, single-operator automation tool operated by Sean Lindsay ("the operator", "we", "I"). This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected. The app has no public users other than the operator; it acts only on accounts the operator personally owns and connects.
Information the app accesses
The app accesses data only through authorized APIs, and only for the operator's own accounts:
- Google / YouTube. Using the
youtube.uploadscope, the app uploads videos to the operator's own YouTube channel. Using theyoutube.readonlyscope, it reads basic public statistics (such as view counts and video metadata) for those videos. - Meta / Instagram. The app publishes videos to, and reads basic insights from, the operator's own Instagram professional account.
- OAuth tokens. When the operator authorizes the app, the app receives and stores access and refresh tokens so it can act on the operator's behalf without re-authorizing each time.
The app does not collect data from any other person. It has no accounts, no visitors, and no analytics or tracking on this website.
How the app uses this data
- To upload videos the operator produced to the operator's own channels.
- To read back basic performance statistics for those videos, in order to inform what content the operator produces next.
The data is never used for advertising, never sold, and never used to build profiles of any individual.
Google user data — Limited Use
The app's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide and improve the app's stated features for the operator, is not transferred to others except as required to operate the app or by law, and is not used for advertising.
Storage and security
OAuth tokens and any related data are stored on a private server controlled by the operator, are not shared with third parties, and are used only by the app. Access to the server is restricted to the operator.
Sharing
No data accessed through these APIs is sold, rented, or shared with any third party. The only "sharing" that occurs is the app publishing the operator's own videos to the operator's own channels, at the operator's direction.
Data retention and deletion
Tokens are retained only as long as needed to operate the app and are deleted when access is revoked. Media files staged for publishing are deleted immediately after each upload. The operator can revoke the app's access at any time:
- Google: myaccount.google.com/permissions → remove Videogen.
- Instagram / Meta: in the connected account's app settings, remove the Videogen app.
Revoking access invalidates the stored tokens, after which the app can no longer act on the account.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app changes. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
